Do you love the little luxuries in life? I do too. I believe hiring a professional photographer is an extra-special luxury. And yes, I do it too.
**One of my client families had me fly down to their vacation/birthday celebration in The Bahamas. When they got their pictures, the lovely momma told me how much she loved them, of course. (I mean, it was The Bahamas. OF COURSE they were gorgeous.) But, she loved that her vacation was documented and done and already in an album for the family to hold in their hands and look at together and laugh about the fun memories they had. THAT’S what I do.
I strive to be known for excellent customer service and gorgeous artwork on your walls and albums on your coffee tables, because I want you to celebrate this occasion you’re hiring me for. If your goal is to get a few small prints and share pictures on a Facebook post, we are probably not the right fit.
Pause. I know that sounds super snobby, but that’s not what I mean.
Okay, shhhhhh. Don’t tell anyone, but I’m about to tell you a little secret.
That fancy little phone that you’re probably reading this on? Yep. It can do all that for you. When you hire a pro, go big. Treat yourself. Make it special.
What do I do? I make sure you don’t schedule your family session when your husband’s favorite team is playing. I act like a lunatic and run around and make your kids laugh to get those genuine smiles, and I don’t get frustrated when they don’t feel like cooperating (if my own children are reading this: THIS DOESN’T APPLY TO YOU. Dude. You know the flippin’ drill. Act right and smile, already!). I will come to your house and pick out your outfits, if you are worried about coordinating everyone. Even better? I’ll go shopping with you. Really.
And yes–oooh! ooh! *raising my hand like the school nerd I am* I want to meet you on location for fabulous vacation photos.
Finally, I will deliver your crazy-beautiful artwork to your house and hang it for you.
That’s what I will love to do for you.
Here’s a little more about me: I am a high-heel-wearing, super nerd who laughs at everything. I’m a little wifey to my most handsome and hilarious high school sweetheart and a work-from-home momma to my two babies, although they are in middle school and junior high, so I guess not babies so much anymore (sniff, sniff). I adore sun flare and using lovely natural light in my photos, but I’ll bring plenty of flash for those tricky indoor situations.
For those who want the stats, here’s the rundown of how I got here:

Thank you for your time and interest. I always want to plan a pre-consult meeting with my clients prior to our sessions, but in case we can’t, please feel free to check out my family blog to get to know me a little better: http://thebacles.blogspot.com.
Finally, yes, I do love photography. However, my passion is education–in any form. I will one day return to the school environment full time. For now, I fulfill my desire to teach students through camera classes and photography workshops I’ve designed myself.
