As I started editing this gallery and working on this preview today, I was thinking back to previous jobs I’ve had before this one. I remembered at one point when I was a lieutenant in the Air Force, I had a year-long stretch of dread every morning. I was pretty miserable and really loathed going into the office every day. And now? I think, DANG, I am one lucky duck. When I went to my newborn shoot this week (the best kind of office), this was what I saw when I got there. Whew. Heart melted. I just can’t resist those sweet baby feet.
So, this is one of my favorite shots–here’s why. When I got there, she was slowly coming out of her nap, so Momma picked her up to change her (the most fabulous-and-beautiful-momma-ever, by the way; I think I must have commented on how beautiful her hair/makeup/jewelry/face/house were about 10 times), and this was what she did. She looked straight into the camera and said, “Let’s do this.” I love a girl who’s ready to model one week out of the gate.
Raise your hand if you’re a mom and you see this picture and sort of inhale a little thinking about that newborn top-of-the-head sweet smell. Aaaaand, if you’re not a mom, pretend you didn’t read that last sentence, so you don’t think I’m a total crazy person.
And, of course–my favorite of all the mom-and-newborn-baby shots. I think I’ve done it a time or two before. Yes, you’re right. I should change it up. I just don’t want to. :)
Oh-so-gorgeous Momma, thanks for a fun and relaxing morning. I hope she slept the rest of the afternoon for you. I’ll have the rest ready for you soon.
Love, Andrea
If you’re looking for a newborn photographer, all of my weekends are booked for the rest of the year, but I have a few weekdays available through December. Give me a shout if you have a little one on the way. If you are due in 2016 and want a weekend slot, don’t wait too long to book!
