I had the pleasure of meeting a darling family of four (well, it’s a family of four if you include their first fur baby) this weekend. Their first baby is 5-weeks old and was the most perfect model for us–this is why I love lifestyle shoots in the home. They are relaxed and easy and comfortable with no pressure to hurry. When I got there, Baby Boy W was a little hungry, so it was the perfect opportunity for me to take lots of detail shots. 1. I’m in love with this Moses basket bassinet and 2. I love that their first doggie boy is watching over his new little brother (although I couldn’t tell how excited he really was to find out that the baby was staying there for good). Since this is their first baby, sweet little W has been showered with gifts (if you’re a regular reader of our family blog, you may remember the post about Winston’s first blanket he received at 3 1/2 years old…poor, poor second child), and we did our best to get him in photos with lots of the grandparent gifts. This is a family keepsake that lives in his nursery. I’m trying to include more images in my previews without giving away all of the excitement about seeing our final pics, so I thought I’d share this lovely nursery decor.
Aha. Now the good stuff. I hope this little laugh is a surprise for Momma. She stepped out to get his bottle ready, and I was able to get this adorable little half giggle/half smile. Gotta love sweet baby toes!
Do you remember reading The Little Golden Books when you were a kid? There was an illustrator named Eloise Wilkin who was always my favorite. When I saw this little man’s face while he was sleeping, it reminded me so much of her drawings…but in real life. He was a little old to do the typical newborn poses, but he was a champ at falling asleep when he was ready and gave us this beautiful sleeping face.Sweet family, thank you for welcoming me into your gorgeous home. I can’t wait to see you in a couple of weeks!
