The bluebonnets are coming! Are you as excited as I am? I have totally embraced our Texas life. We’ve lived all over the United States, but this is my favorite place we’ve ever lived, and I love calling it home. So, as you can imagine (because I’m sure I’m the ultra-cheesiest person you know), I’m always excited about the bluebonnets blooming. I had a lovely lady call me yesterday to get on the books, so I thought I’d do a re-cap of my favorite bluebonnet spots. Fellow photographers, if you need more info about shooting at any of these places (lighting, crowds, driving directions, etc.), give me a call.
field in Montgomery:
Mercer Botanic Gardens (depends on the year as to how big the patch is):
Conroe library (last year there were several colors at once):
Memorial Park (usually a small patch):
Brenham (if you’re up for the drive, the views are killer):
The Woodlands (Creekside/Rob Fleming Park):
I’ve included two pics from Creekside because they have such a beautiful water feature with stones and steps and fences that are pretty if you want some variety other than the flowers. Memorial Park is good for that, as well. I shoot there a ton, so I know lots of cute non-flower spots there, too.
I’ve got my short list going of those who are waiting for time slots as soon as I’m confident about when the flowers will be fully in bloom. Let me know if you’d like to be added to the list. Thanks! andrea.bacle@gmail.com or 508.768.5808

Hi, I was interested in having photos taken with the bluebonnets. Hope I am not to late. Could you please send me dates and prices if available. Thanks
Hey, Toni! It’s not too late. The blubonnets are only beginning to bloom.
Hi Andrea,
I am fellow Photographer :-) I have been doing bluebonnet pictures for the past couple years in Chappell Hill but looking for something a little closer to town. I saw your message about asking you, so I figured I would reach out to you. Where in Montgomery is this field? Thank you in advance!
Elizabeth
Hey, Elizabeth! Yes, I’m so glad you asked. In Montgomery, I like to go to Montgomery High School. When they are in full bloom–I asked a friend yesterday and so far there are only a few–there’s a huge field across the street. You can’t miss them. There’s also a lovely field in front of the Old Montgomery Steakhouse.
Good luck! Let me know if I can help again.
