Ok, I’ll fess up. Sometimes my shoots aren’t all sunshine and flowers. Sometimes it’s hard. Really hard. Sometimes there are threats, often followed by begging and bribes and apologies. Sometimes there’s crying…occasionally by people other than me. But, every once in a while a family just makes it look easy. This shoot was fun, quick, easy, and lovely. This family was a dream to work with. We started about an hour and a half before sunset, and it was cloudy when we needed it, and then they parted in time to give me some last-minute, coveted sun and lens flare.
Side note: Last week, my 3-year-old daughter and I had a professional photo shoot with Alyssa of Alyssa Fortenberry Photography, and I found myself going through the same drill all my clients go through: “Birdie, can you please just…Birdie, if you don’t…Hey, I’ll get you a treat…. Ugh, I’m sorry she’s being so difficult.” So, please don’t feel that you ever need to apologize to me for your 3-year-old acting like herself. I promise I love it, and I totally understand! :)
So, anyway, I love the lens flare on this one. I realize it’s not for everyone and many moms would prefer not to have it on there (so I make sure I show some without it), but I think it’s super cool and unique to the image, and I want to be known for the sun and lens flare I always try to get in camera.
I love the colors and beautiful smiles in this one.
These girls were so sweet and fun and had fun coming up with ideas for poses and pictures. It seemed like they had a great time, which is always my first goal.
Thank you for a fun shoot. I’ll have the rest ready for you soon.
Love, Andrea
