Whew! What a fun and beautiful wedding this was. This gorgeous couple got married over the weekend at The Heights Villa. I had never been there before, so it was a special treat for me, too.
One of my favorite things about shooting a wedding is when I can grab the couple and sneak them away for a few minutes right after the ceremony. I love to give them a couple of minutes together before they have to mingle for the rest of the night. Plus, they’ll never experience that “We did it! I love you!” glow again, and I haven’t done my job if I miss that moment. Both the ceremony and reception were inside (not a favorite for a natural light photographer), so I loved taking these two outside to a little courtyard in the back. We even had a little hint of a pink light from the setting sun.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs.! If you know me, you can probably guess that this one’s my favorite. :)
All dressed and ready to marry. How beautiful is this woman? Gorgeous!
And finally…the cake. Boy, oh, boy, was this a cake. And here comes the real surprise: the bride made it! Can you believe that? This oh-so-talented bride is a cake baker extraordinaire and managed to pull off a pretty daunting task on her wedding day. As you can see, it was front and center at the wedding.
Thank you again for letting me capture your special day. It was my pleasure, and I can’t wait to show you the rest. Enjoy being newlyweds and congratulations!!
Love, Andrea
