I’d really love to get a macro lens, but it’s way down on the list of things I need for my business, so I’ll keep trying to fool myself with these lovely nature closeups. What’s funny is that I get such a serene feeling when I look at these. However, if you know me, you know I have two crazy little monkey children that keep me running around all day long. So, I’m able to get images like these when I have the blissful 10 minutes of silence I have when waiting for clients on location. If we book a session on location, you’ll most likely hear me say, “I should be there early….” That’s because I cherish those 10 minutes of quiet loveliness. When you show up, ask me what photos I’ve already taken while waiting there. :)

Do you need some artwork for your home? Take your camera and head outside to the park, or take your kids on a treasure hunt around the neighborhood and see what they can discover for you. Have it blown up and hang it up in your house. It will have so much more meaning to you than a generic art piece from the craft store will. Don’t be shy about getting down on your belly, and get up close and personal with the butterflies and beetles.

I teach “Shot by Momma” classes every few months–I’ll help you understand how to utilize your settings and get some great shots.
